Nichole and Charlie, Dwight and King, Jackie and Joe, Sam and Chance For over 30 years, this Tahoe family has delighted visitors from around the world with history, fun and nostalgia. Sam and Rosie Borges started Borges Sleigh rides in 1968 with a horse named Little Joe, that was won in a raffle by one of their sons. Sam started building a sleigh using postcard and catalog photos; and with the suggestion of a neighbor started giving sleigh rides to visitors in the Park's meadow. Rosie Borges helped by supporting Sam's childhood dream of sleighrides; and the two operated the sleighride company and raised their family. Over the years Sam& Rosie's sons, Dean, Dave, Don, and Dwight, have keeping the family tradition alive by continuing to offer sleigh and carriage rides to the delight visitors and locals alike here in the Lake Tahoe Basin. For more than a decade, Dwight and Dianna Borges have been operating the family business, with help from family and friends. We are committed to continuing the family tradition of bringing the beauty of our Winter Wonderland home to the visitors of Tahoe, sharing our stories and poems and supporting the community that we love.
